7.00pm Worship Group meeting in the church library to consider ideas and proposals for alternative lay-led activities for Sunday evenings. Everyone is invited to come along and bring suggestions.

10.00am - 5.00pm Feed the Minds Book Sale in St. Helen's Church, St. Helen's Square. Hundreds of books at bargain prices. Feed the Minds promotes literacy and Christian literature in developing countries and Eastern Europe.
Saturday 21st August 9.30am Church Walking Group - meet at the vicarage.
Monday 30th August
A family-friendly sponsored walk for Christian Aid organised by John Eckersley. See the Notices page for details.
Wednesday 1st September
7.30pm in the Main Hall, Priory Street Centre. York Interfaith Group and Churches Together in York invite you to hear Rev. Inderjit Bhogal speaking on "Building a City of Sanctuary". Inderjit is the Chief Executive of the Yorkshire and Humber Faiths Forum and Past President of the Methodist Conference. City of Sanctuary is a movement to build a culture of hospitality for people seeking sanctuary in the UK. Many towns and cities are being recognised as places of safety and welcome. Saturday 4th September
2.00 - 4.00pm Plant for Peace Sunflower Rally in King's Square. Speakers include: Lindsey German, Convenor of Britain's Stop the War; Peter Brierley of Military Families Against the War, whose son Shaun was one of the first casualties in Iraq. Peacfully and resolutely, people will highlight the unacceptable human cost of this war as it enters its tenth year and call for its end.
Saturday 4th September
7.30pm Circuit service in Southlands Methodist Church to welcome Rev. Jennifer Mackenzie, the new superintendant Minister for York South Circuit.
Saturday 11th September
Fancy a day out? Then join us for a ride on the Wensleydale Railway. Coach departs from church at 9.30am and arrives at Leeming Station about 11.00am.
