800 Pancake Race!
It would be good to see teams from all of our churches taking part.
City centre churches are encouraged to drum up support for this event
and bring extra pans and pancakes (not for eating!) to mix in with
the crowds. This should provide an opportunity to talk about what
Shrove Tuesday, Ash Wednesday and Lent through to Easter is all about
and to hand out information about events in our churches.
Organised by Revd Jane Natrass, this event was successfully held
last year in St Helen's Square asking passers-by to toss pancakes
to each other - police, van drivers, shoppers, tourists, school parties
etc. |
| Tuesday 21st February |
6.30pm Shrove Tuesday -
students and young people of Heslington Church welcome you to enjoy
pancakes. Donations would be welcome to cover costs, but by no means
necessary. |
