It is with great pleasure that we invite you to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the present church building and the Heslington community of 2008.

We offer you three months of words, music, art, craft, flowers, discussion, friendship, food and fun. We hope you will want to share in many of the experiences and celebrate Heslington 2008.

Heslington Church has had a long and cordial association with the University of York. Not only is it a place of worship, but an inspiring venue for social and cultural events with a welcome for the entire university community. With worship involving all denominations, it is a broad church in every sense. The University of York wishes Heslington Church many congratulations on its 150th anniversary and all good wishes for the future.
Professor Brian Cantor, Vice Chancellor, University of York

The festivities got off to an excellent start on Saturday 24th May with a celebration of community in and around the church. A large number of people enjoyed the afternoon of entertaining stalls, bouncy castle, jugglers, an exhibition of finds from the archaeological dig on Kimberlow Hill, a fire engine from York Fire Brigade, cream teas and lots of scarecrows. Inside the church was a superb exhibition of arts and crafts, flower arrangements, live music and the wall hangings unveiled by the Lord Mayor and his High Sheriff. There are clearly a lot of talented people associated with Heslington and your webmaster was most impressed by the artistic skills on display. Photographs of the day will be displayed here in the very near future.
