Rory Dalgliesh is the Methodist Chaplain to the University and is based at Heslington Church. He should be around most Sundays, but he can also be contacted via the Church Office as well as via the chaplaincy office at the university. He is very approachable for both silly and serious matters. Rowan Williams is the Anglican Chaplain. She is loosley based at Heslington Church, but inhabits other churches around the city as well. The chaplaincy website will tell you more about their activities and will also allow you to sign up to the chaplaincy email for weekly information about events. Each year the chaplaincy organises a pilgrimage or retreat in the Easter vacation. In 2010 the retreat was at L'Arche, Trosly-Breuil, north of Paris. L'Arche forms communities where people with various handicaps live with able-bodied folk, learning from each other and recognising their various gifts. Last year's was with the Anglican Franciscans in Alnmouth, Northumberland, visiting places associated with the northern saints. Plans are underway for 2012 - contact one of the chaplains for details.
