"Hes" traditionally has a significant student population due to its proximity to campus and serving them is a high priority for the church. There are two student representatives on the Church Council, who are normally your first point of contact. If you have any new ideas that you think will benefit the church and its mission, they are good people to talk to. They will also tell you about the various Christian societies on campus. Rory is the Methodist Chaplain to the University and is based at Heslington Church. He should be around most Sundays, but he can also be contacted via the Church Office as well as via the chaplaincy office at the university. He is very approachable for both silly and serious matters. The chaplaincy website will tell you more about his activities. Students are most welcome to be involved in the various areas of church life, such as assisting in worship, being involved with children's work, attending or helping at social occasions, being involved in the church's work in the community.
